How to Prepare for Your Appointment
For the best tattoo results, please follow these steps prior to your tattoo appointment:
SKIN PREPARATION
- While showering, gently exfoliate the area that will be tattooed.
- Apply lotion to the area to hydrate and soften your skin; your tattoo will look cleaner and heal faster than if your skin is rough & dry.
- Drink a lot of water during the week.
- Avoid alcohol for at least 24 hours before your session.
- Avoid NSAIDS such as Aspirin/Ibuprofen or other blood thinning medication at least 24 hours prior to your session (Tylenol/acetaminophen is fine).
Antibiotic treatments must be finished at least 1 week prior to your session.
- If you experience menstrual cycles, try not to schedule during that time as this can cause tattoos to be more painful.
THE DAY OF YOUR APPOINTMENT
- Bring your I.D. to your appointment. I cannot tattoo you without it. (You must be 18 years or older to be tattooed in the state of California, regardless of parental consent).
- Eat a meal at least 1 hour before coming into your appointment. For longer sessions I recommend bringing in a snack and beverage to have during breaks.
- Shower, exfoliate & hydrate your skin the morning of, if possible. Please do not come in after a workout or sweating without showering. Avoid wearing strong perfumes.
- Wear clean & loose-fitting clothes; something you wouldn’t mind getting stained with ink.
- Feel free to bring your phone, headphones or a book to entertain yourself, especially during long sessions.
- Please reschedule if you are not feeling well.
